Bitumen emulsion for use in waterproofing applications with the membrane. Recommended for use on projects where bitumen products have been used previously. Very cost-effective.
Description
A water-based bitumen provides a liquid waterproofing system when used with a membrane.
Recommended Uses
Waterproofing of walls, flat roofs, balconies, verandas, fish ponds, retaining walls with backfill, galvanized iron and steel.
Surface preparation

Cementitious:
Mix 1 part Bituseal with 1 part water and prime the area. 1 lt of this mix should cover approximately 4 m² depending on the surface porosity.
Galvanised Iron:
Prime with Fillrite Acrylic Corrocote
Steel:
Prime with Fillrite Etch Primer
Application
- Apply a thick coat of Bituseal to the area that needs to be waterproofed.
- Embed the membrane into the Bituseal and smooth out all the wrinkles. Allow to dry for 3 hours.
- Apply a second coat on to the membrane and make sure that it is completely saturated. Allow to dry.
- Apply a third/final coat and make sure that no fabric is visible.
- Allow the system to cure for 10 days before overcoating with Fillrite Bitumen Aluminium.
